The homeworld of the fierce Elasians, rival of Troyius, whose ruler Elaan is sent to marry the Troyian leader.
Elas is the inner of the two inhabited planets of the Tellun system. Its people, the Elasians, are a warrior culture led by rulers called Dohlmans, and their women have tears containing a chemical that can make a man fall in love.
In Elaan of Troyius, Elas's Dohlman Elaan is carried to Troyius on the Enterprise to make peace by marriage. Her tears affect Kirk, and her necklace of radans proves to be dilithium crystals, which saves the ship.
