A beautiful planet inside Romulan space believed to be the legendary paradise Eden, whose plants and fruit prove deadly.
Eden is the name given to a legendary paradise planet sought by Dr. Sevrin and his followers in The Way to Eden. Spock helps them locate a planet matching its description in Romulan territory, and they steal a shuttlecraft from the Enterprise to reach it.
The planet is lush and lovely, but its grass and plants contain acid that burns the skin and its fruit is poisonous. The musician Adam dies after eating it, and Sevrin, refusing to accept the truth, eats a fruit himself and dies. The survivors are taken back to the ship.
