Stephen Collins (born 1947) is an American actor who appeared in films such as All the President's Men before Star Trek and later became widely known for playing Eric Camden in the family drama 7th Heaven.
In Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) Collins played Captain Willard Decker, the young officer who has overseen the Enterprise's refit and is demoted to executive officer when Admiral Kirk reclaims command. Decker, the son of Commodore Matt Decker, chooses at the film's climax to join with V'Ger and Ilia, creating a new form of life.
