Leonard Rosenman

Composer — Star Trek IV

American composer whose score for The Voyage Home earned an Academy Award nomination.

Leonard Rosenman (1924–2008) was an American film, television and concert composer with more than a hundred credits. He scored East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause and won Academy Awards for his adaptation work on Barry Lyndon and Bound for Glory.
Rosenman composed the score for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986), a lighter score suited to the film's comic time-travel story set largely in 1980s San Francisco. It brought him an Academy Award nomination. His other science fiction work includes Fantastic Voyage and Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
