American actress who guest-starred twice in The Original Series and later joined The Next Generation as Dr. Katherine Pulaski.
Diana Muldaur (born 1938) is an American film and television actress, also known for playing attorney Rosalind Shays in L.A. Law. In the original series she played two different scientists: astrobiologist Ann Mulhall in Return to Tomorrow (1968) and the telepathic Dr. Miranda Jones in Is There in Truth No Beauty? (1968).
Twenty years later she joined the main cast of The Next Generation for its second season as Dr. Katherine Pulaski, the Enterprise-D's chief medical officer, whose prickly relationship with Data echoed McCoy's sparring with Spock. Beverly Crusher returned to the role of chief medical officer in the third season.
