The 3189 destruction of the planet Kwejian, home of Cleveland Booker, by the gravitational force later known as the Dark Matter Anomaly.
In 3189 Cleveland Booker went home to Kwejian for his nephew Leto's coming-of-age ceremony. While he was there he noticed the planet's birds behaving strangely and flew off-world to investigate.
Moments later a massive gravitational distortion tore Kwejian apart, killing Book's family and nearly everyone on the planet. The distortion, soon called the Dark Matter Anomaly, would go on to threaten other worlds. Book's grief and anger over the loss shaped his choices throughout the crisis.
