Vulcan dissident who carried Surak's katra and passed it to Jonathan Archer before dying in the Forge.
Syrran was the leader of the Syrrannites, a Vulcan movement that rejected the Vulcan High Command and sought to return to Surak's original teachings. Played by Michael Nouri, he travelled under the name Arev and carried within his mind the katra of Surak.
In The Forge, he guided Archer and T'Pol across the Vulcan desert. Mortally injured in a sandfire, he mind-melded with Archer and transferred Surak's katra to him before dying. That katra later led Archer to the Kir'Shara, the artifact that sparked the Vulcan reformation.
