Equinox crewman whom Janeway nearly let the vengeful aliens kill during an interrogation, before he joined Voyager's crew.
Noah Lessing was a crewman aboard the USS Equinox who, like the rest of Ransom's crew, took part in harvesting nucleogenic lifeforms for fuel. Captured aboard Voyager after the Equinox fled, he became the target of Janeway's most extreme moment in Equinox, Part II, when she lowered shields around him during an interrogation and nearly let the aliens kill him until Chakotay objected.
Lessing survived the destruction of the Equinox and was one of five survivors integrated into Voyager's crew, stripped of rank and placed under close supervision.
