Marla Aster was an Enterprise archaeologist killed by an ancient mine, whose death left her young son Jeremy an orphan.
Lieutenant Marla Aster was the ship's archaeologist and the mother of a young son, Jeremy. In The Bonding she was on an away team led by Worf exploring ruins left by the Koinonians when a mine from an old war exploded and killed her.
Her death weighed on Worf and on Picard, who had to break the news to Jeremy. An energy being from the planet, feeling responsible, took on her appearance to care for her son, until the crew helped Jeremy accept that his mother was gone. Susan Powell played her.
