A Maquis cell leader who became a father figure to Ro Laren while she was undercover.
Macias is a member of a Maquis cell fighting the Cardassians in the Demilitarized Zone. When Ro Laren infiltrates the group under orders from Starfleet, he welcomes her and becomes a father figure to her.
In Preemptive Strike, Macias is killed during a Cardassian attack. His death deepens Ro's conflicted loyalties, and when the time comes to lead the Maquis into a Starfleet trap, she warns them and joins them instead.
