The Enterprise helmsman killed by Gary Mitchell on Delta Vega after the barrier crossing gave Mitchell godlike powers.
Lee Kelso is a lieutenant and helmsman aboard the Enterprise in the early days of Kirk's command, an easy-going officer at ease with his crewmates. After the ship is crippled crossing the galactic barrier, he is part of the team sent to Delta Vega to salvage parts from the automated lithium cracking station.
While Kelso works on repairs, Gary Mitchell, whose powers are growing rapidly, escapes confinement and strangles him with a cable. He was played by Paul Carr.
