A member of Elaan's guard who loves her and secretly works with the Klingons to sabotage the marriage that would bring peace.
Kryton is one of Elaan's bodyguards, travelling with her on the Enterprise in Elaan of Troyius, as she is taken to marry the ruler of the rival planet Troyius. He is in love with her and cannot bear to see her married to an enemy.
Kryton secretly signals a Klingon ship and sabotages the Enterprise's warp drive so that the ship can be attacked and the marriage prevented. When he is discovered, he kills himself rather than be questioned. He was played by Tony Young.
