A follower of Dr. Sevrin and former Starfleet Academy student who was once involved with Pavel Chekov.
Irini Galliulin is one of the young idealists who follow Dr. Sevrin on his search for the mythical planet Eden in The Way to Eden. She once studied at Starfleet Academy, where she and Pavel Chekov had a relationship, before she rejected the structured life of the Federation and dropped out.
When the group is brought aboard the Enterprise, Irini and Chekov meet again and their old feelings surface, though he cannot accept her new way of life. She joins the takeover of the ship and the flight to Eden, survives the planet's poisonous plants, and parts from Chekov at the end. She was played by Mary-Linda Rapelye.
