Ellen Landry was the chief of security aboard the USS Discovery under Captain Gabriel Lorca, played by Rekha Sharma. She shared her captain's aggressive, results-first approach and had little patience for Michael Burnham's arrival on the ship.
Landry was put in charge of the giant tardigrade brought aboard from the USS Glenn. Ignoring Burnham's advice, she tried to take a claw from the creature as a weapon, and the tardigrade fatally mauled her.
