Douglas Pabst is the editor of Incredible Tales in Far Beyond the Stars, the vision of 1953 New York in which Benjamin Sisko lives as the writer Benny Russell. He is played by René Auberjonois, mirroring Odo.
Pabst tells Benny and Kay Eaton they will be left out of a staff photo because readers might object to a black man and a woman writing science fiction. He refuses Benny's story Deep Space Nine until it is framed as a dream, and after the publisher pulps the issue he fires Benny.
